Unit 2A: World Empires

Sections 6.1, 6.2, 11.1, 11.2, 12.1, 12.2, 12.4

This unit will focus on World Empires. After the Fall of Rome, Europe enters a "Dark Age" (see Unit 2B). In the meantime, cultures and civilizations are flourishing around the world in the Americas, Asia, and Africa. This unit will explore these civilizations, their accomplishments, what made them great, and why they fell.

The focus is about the architecture and technology utilized by early civilizations through which they tell about the history and culture of the society. Here, the rise and fall of the Aztec civilization is the backdrop for the technology and engineering of the early people of Mexico. Use these questions while watching the movie to get a focus on the information.
